Just Call Us Eager (and Prepared) :)

As you may already know, Chris and I would L-O-V-E to be blessed with twins one day! Preferably 1 boy and 1 girl . . . it's something we've been praying for for years now. In light of our current fertility treatments, the chances of conceiving multiples is slightly higher . . . which is certainly to our benefit b/c twins don't run in either of our families. In addition, since the road to parenthood has been so long and arduous thus far, we would kind of like to reap as many rewards as possible with our first pregnancy (given there will be one) in case we just don't get the opportunity again. However, we are also prepared to not have twins as well (which we would still be happy with). And despite God's plans for a biological family, we are very in tune with His plan of adoption for us as well! So we firmly believe that we will have at least 1 child (if not more) of each gender. We've even chosen their names at this point . . . we're just waiting to actually have them (lol).

That being said, I received an email today from Target marketing their big baby sale and I just couldn't resist thumbing through the pages to see what they had to offer . . . after all, we will need this stuff ONE day :) While flipping through the pages of little girl bedding ensembles, there it was . . . in perfect pink and green, our baby girl's nursery!!! We've had our "son's" nursery bedding picked out for a long time now (we even bought it when it went on sale!), but now we've picked out our "daughter's" nursery bedding and we both just love it!!! We haven't bought it, we're not quite to that point yet (lol), but we will certainly be keeping our eyes on it from now on. And if it goes anything like the first one did, we'll be making a purchase as soon as it's placed on clearance! When faced with kismet, you don't take chances! I would be so sad if we chose to wait on buying this bedding (for practical reasons) and then couldn't find it when the time came around to actually need it.



Other than the design just being absolutely fabulous and falling in love with it instantly, the thing I loved most about it was the beautiful little asian girl that Target so conveniently placed in the picture. It's like they were reading our minds! Knowing full well that in 1 year's time we are FINALLY going to be ready to send in our adoption paperwork to China for a precous baby girl, i was able to get a tiny glimpse of what our life could look like 2 years from now . . . even if just for a second. And it was perfect . . . unfathomably perfect.

La Vie En Rose

Sabrina. One of my favorite Audrey Hepburn movies of all time. The above quote is from the opening scene of this beloved film. Much like this scene was the epic wedding Chris and I attended this past weekend of my dear friend, Rebekah Gray. Rebekah and I have known each other since she was in high school. She, like me, adores all things classy and romantic, elegant and sensational. Unlike me, Rebekah has travelled the world and shopped in places like Rodeo Drive and 5th Avenue her whole life. She is well-cultured, well-read, a fashion icon to her friends, and has been linked to celebrities such as Tyler Hilton and Charles Kelley (of Lady Antebellum). But it took a ruggedly handsome, Army-veteran, number-crunching Bank of America Auditor from Spain to steal her heart forever :)

Imagine this . . . twinkling lights and luminaries in the trees, flickering candles and pale pink roses, violins, the stars above . . . and La Vie En Rose. This was the scene for Rebekah's magical moment. She was a stunning bride, in pale pink herself, with roses in her hair and Manolo Blahnik on her feet. Everything about this ceremony had Rebekah's stylish touch all over it. She mentioned to me later that she wanted it to be as personal a day as possible for she and David, so it was anything but ordinary or traditional and every bit extraordinary.

Rebekah will be joining David in Charlotte once returning from their romantic honeymoon in Paris . . . somewhere Rebekah has always wanted to go. I cannot wait wait to have her here with me all the time! She and I enjoy all the same things that I have rarely found in anyone else and I am so happy to partake in those activites much more now that Rebekah will be close by!
