On Saturday I hosted a luncheon for 2 of my dear friends from Meredith. Meaghan and Katie were roommates together during college and are now both experiencing their first pregnancies together as well! What an awesome time for them! It was such a privilege to have this opportunity to do something special for them during this time. Normally, the 8 of us who lived together at Meredith (and managed to stay friends all this time after graduation) would all join together to shower these beautiful ladies with love and gifts. But, as time, distance, and families grow, this is not a feasible option anymore :( Sadly :( So it was just the 2 honored guests, our dear friend, Brooke and her daughter Ava, and myself for lunch. This did not hinder us in any way. We still had a wonderful time together! This time really was blessed. No matter how much time or distance can come between, some friendships will remain special and close to your heart forever. This was certainly represented here.
Our cake. Southern Living recipe: Toasted Almond-Butter Cake with homemade Cream Cheese Frosting. Mmmm . . .

Our food table. We had hot spinach-artichoke dip (appetizer), honey-dijon chicken, homemade mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, and sliced french bread.

Here's Meg opening her gifts from me. I caught her a bad time, but she really was excited about her gifts :) Here she is opening the pouch sling (which she really wanted and even liked the fabric I chose for her - yay!) . . .

. . . and here she is opening her blanket :)

I made Katie a nursing cover (which she really wanted also) . . .
